Varicose veins of the lower limbs are a common manifestation of Chronic Venous Disease (CVD), affecting nearly 80% of the global adult population. Beyond varicose veins, CVD can present with spider veins, leg edema, eczema, lipodermatosclerosis, and non-healing venous ulcers, making it a widespread yet often misunderstood condition. While patients with varicose veins typically seek treatment from General Surgeons and Vascular Surgeons, formal training in the latest evidence-based guidelines for managing these conditions remains limited. Additionally, expertise in Endovenous techniques such as Laser Ablation is often lacking, leading to suboptimal treatment outcomes.
This course is designed to bridge that gap by providing comprehensive insights into conservative management of varicose veins. A key highlight is the hands-on experience of Endovenous Laser Ablation using an animal model, offering participants a realistic, in-depth, and practical understanding of this advanced treatment modality.

Course Objectives:

1. To provide in-depth knowledge of Duplex Leg Venous Anatomy, Chronic Venous Disease, and Endovenous Laser Ablation for varicose veins.
2. To equip participants with the latest evidence-based guidelines for both conservative and operative management of varicose veins.
3. To enable attending doctors to develop hands-on expertise and confidence in performing Laser Ablation of Varicose Veins independently.

Meet our Faculty

Dr. Ashish Dhadas

Dr. Ashish Dadasaheb Dhadas, MS, FIAGES, is a Consultant General Surgeon and Phlebologist with a special interest in laser treatments for superficial vein diseases. He is the founder of Samata Hospital and Surekha Varicose Veins Clinic, located in Dombivli. The clinic is recognized as one of the few centers in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region—including Thane and Navi Mumbai—offering advanced Endovenous Laser Treatments for patients suffering from spider veins, varicose veins, and venous leg ulcers.

Surekha Varicose Veins Clinic is also the first center in India to introduce CLaCS (Cryo Laser and Cryo Sclerotherapy), a novel Brazilian technique for the treatment of spider veins and small varicose veins. Dr. Dhadas has always been passionate about education and training. He actively contributes to the medical community by conducting regular workshops and training programs for general surgeons on Endovenous Laser Treatments for Varicose Veins.

Academically, Dr. Dhadas completed his MBBS from Seth G.S. Medical College, Mumbai, in 1999, and his MS in General Surgery from T.N. Medical College & BYL Nair Hospital, Mumbai, in 2003. He is a Fellow of the Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endo Surgeons (FIAGES). In 2018, he trained and received certification in Endovenous Laser Treatments for Varicose Veins at The Whiteley Clinic in London. He also holds the distinction of being the first Indian surgeon to be trained in Cryo Laser and Cryo Sclerotherapy (CLaCS).
